Pass Wide & Slow Awareness Ride 2023

Welcome to Ride 72
Pass Wide & Slow 2023

After the the success of 2022 I am hoping to make 2023 even bigger and more accessible!

So what will be different I hear you saying...

  • Larger parking for lorries/trailors

  • Horses pre enter only

  • caterers onsite

  • shorter route

There is a nationwide ride/walk and cycle that will be taking place all over the country on 17th September 2023. The purpose of the ride is to create awareness for vulnerable road users and how to pass them correctly using the Pass Wide & Slow Rule.

How to Join

  • Gates open at 8:30 am with a prompt 10:00 am start time

  • Duration 3 Hours

  • Pre-entry only, must be received by 13th September

So what are you waiting for! Visit our Facebook page (link below) and hit you are interested/attending. Lots of updates/info coming up over the coming months/weeks!!

If you have any questions please ask in the group or message Jodie Sloane direct.

Horse Riders

Entry is FREE but you must pre-enter (form to follow) otherwise you will not be allowed to participate! This year the start/finish point will be a large field so lorries & trailers are welcome! We would require you to have 3rd party public liability insurance, if you attend clinics/events you should already have this.

Cyclists

We also need your support, please note you may find it a slower pace as your normal cycle as the horses will set the pace and we all must stick together. Please feel free to bring your bike in your car we will have plenty of space for you to park.

Walkers

We need your support, but please note it is a fairly fast-paced walk as the horses will set the pace and we must all stick together.

Volunteer Marshals

We will need marshals at the start/finish area, along the route and on the ride on foot. Please let me know if you would like to get involved, sooner the better if possible!

Children

Yes, please get them involved! But I ask that they are well-behaved and accompanied by an adult if going on the ride. They must also be able to keep up with the pace of the ride either on foot or bike.

Dogs

Yes feel free to bring your dogs on a short lead and they must be well-behaved around horses! You can get some great high-viz items for dogs now!
